A1: 36-38.

A2: minimum overall academic average of 70% calculated on Eng (12), Bio (11) and Chem (11)
Q3: How many people apply?
A3: Usually around 200.

Q5: Can I shadow current Dental Hygiene students?

Q6: Is experience important?
A6: Experience is important. If you have not shadowed a Dental Hygienist, volunteered, or worked in a dental office, it is highly encouraged that you do. The program is rigorous and it is important to know that Dental Hygiene is the right career for you.
Q7: Can I work while I’m in the program?
A7: Yes, you can work, but due to the demands of the program, it is not advisable
Q8: What is the cost of the Dental Hygiene program?
A8: Though costs vary from year to year, please refer to Fee Schedule. You can expect that costs for books, the instrument kit, and personal protective equipment will change somewhat from year to year.
Q9: Are there benefits to attending an accredited Dental Hygiene education program versus a non-accredited Dental Hygiene education program?
A9: The benefits to attending an accredited program include:
1. Accredited Dental Hygiene educational programs have demonstrated their ability to meet CDAC accreditation requirements;
2. Graduates of accredited Dental Hygiene educational programs automatically qualify to write the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board (NDHCB) examination.
3. Graduates of accredited Dental Hygiene educational programs are not required to do the clinical exam.
